High-rise condo/hardwood flooring/stainless steel appliances/granite countertops/everything within walking distance!
New 2 bedroom/2 bathroom (one opens to living room area as well)/2 parking spot, roommate floor-plan unit in a high-rise condo with hardwood flooring, stainless steel appliances*, granite counter-tops and is within walking distance of restaurants, a Super Target, MARTA, and Perimeter Mall.
In addition to being a very safe neighborhood (VS living in downtown Atlanta), you can (healthily) walk to everything! Avoid driving on Atlanta's heavily congested, non-grid-like, and poorly-maintained roads (especially during the winter or in the rain) and you save on wear and tear + gas on your car as well.

- 18th floor
- View looks north
- a fridge IS included (despite what the picture shows)*,
- W/D included in unit
- Rent excludes water/sewer/electricity/cable/internet
Ideal roommate (and I believe I share these same attributes):
- quiet, keeps to themselves,
- respectful of others (and their privacy),
- responsible
- pays their bills on time and has a steady job,
- keeps a clean kitchen OR is willing to do other chores in exchange for me keeping the kitchen clean (no roach magnets please!)
- common views / habits / lifestyle (see below)
Bonus:
- friendly and sociable
- same age group
Some additional info about me (you may wish to answer these questions yourself if you decide to email me):
-
Q: Why are you looking for a roommate now?
A: Looking to economically split the bills at a nice apartment with someone that shares the same views and habits as I do (maybe even make a new friend)
-
Q: What do you do for a living?
A: Web, DB, graphic-design developer
-
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: Read / surf the internet, sleep, exercise, eat out with friends occasionally, mostly a 'home-body'
Note: I am currently self-employed and work from home *a lot*, so the other person would have to be ok with that. I do not own a TV nor have cable (don't really need it, I've found it tends to 'suck you in') but I'd be willing to contribute a small amount towards cable if you decide to setup a TV in the living room and there is something I end up watching regularly. I do have a few common-area things (convertible dining/coffee table w/ chairs, a queen-size headboard) of which I'm trying to hopefully eventually get rid of. I also have a few other modular cube furniture in the living room and a fake plant.
-
Q: Are you extra sensitive to anything?
A: dust, cat-hair
-
Q: Did you have a conflict with a previous roommate? How was it resolved?
A: Not really... I've had several roommates in college and we've usually worked out something (I lived in a dorm so was required to move every quarter/semester). I'm still good friends with my Atlanta college roommate who's now married and has kids.
In regards to chores: I've found having 1 person handle a specific chore (ie: trash, dishes, etc.) works better VS a "it's my turn, now it's your turn" sort of thing (provided each person is comfortable with the chore and both people have similar habits). With my last roommate, he did the trash and I did the dishes, each of us doing it on our own schedule. In regards to floor cleaning, I have a Roomba and a Scooba, so the floor cleaning is usually handled by that. Worked out great, IMO. He ended up moving out to buy a(nother) house and I ended up moving from FL to Atlanta for work. Still keep in touch occasionally. Note, this roommate is different than the one described in the previous paragraph.
*IMPORTANT*: I am *NOT* looking to receive responses from people that already have a place and are looking to fill a vacancy.
What I'm trying to find is someone that has the same views/habits as I do AND wants to 'combine incomes' to jointly apply for this specific luxury property listed here.
I'm looking to move 1/17/2010, however, I would like to find a roommate by 11/22/10 5PM, as I need to tell my currently apartment complex whether I wish to renew my current 1BR/1BTH lease by then.
To contact me please email me at __roommate@black-nova.net (anti-spam: remove the __ ) and mention this roommate ad. in the subject line
Thanks!
Disclosure: Note, I currently do not live in this unit but have lived in this area for the last year. Because I like the area where I live, I am now looking to find a roommate to jointly apply for the unit described herein. A credit check will be performed by the owner.
